It was done by a professional, but after watching him, I know I could have done the job myself. He used a product called Cabinet Coat (made by insl-x, see their website for store locations that sell it in your area). It can adhere to any surface - No Primer needed! (You just need to wash everything well with a solution of amonia and water first). After a few light coats of the paint, they glazed the door fronts and base (using a brown glaze, a dry brush and some cheese cloth). I added new hardware and the transformation was amazing. It is a bit of work, but well worth it. Good luck
