Subject: Frame depth limitations for stretched canvas

I have a 30x40 photo on canvas that I want to stretch and put in a wood frame that is only 7/16" deep. Can I use this frame or is it too shallow given the best option for stretcher bars?
I've never stretched canvas before and have a show where I need to do 25 of these!
