I am leafing some collums (round)how would I achieve a solid gold look to where you cant see the individule leafs? some one came by and said it looks like square pieces of tin foil that have been painted gold.The other thing is , is that on some areas there is a gap where the leafs where over laid revealing the base coat of red,this happened after I burnished it with very soft cheese cloth, How do I prevent this? and before I redo the areas of concern should I litely sand them?
