Subject: Technique/Colour Ideas
Message:
I am having a large set of built ins constructed in nmy daighter's bedroom. It will consist of a built in desk under a double window flanked on either side by 2 large base cabinets with 2 doors each with open bookshelves on top. The base cabinet doors will have open inset panels with will be backed with shirred fabric and wire. I found this fabulous door flower knobs on assorted colours. I will paint the cabinets and bookshelves Linen White and perhaps antique them.

The paint colour in the room is Ben Moore's Straw accented by Linen White as the trim.

My dilemma is the following: there will be a MDF countertop surface put on top of the cabinets and desk with some kind of edging. I am concerned that if paint this very long countertop the Linen White that it will be monotonous and too blah. Should I consider crackling the counter surface - perhaps with a goldish base and the Linen Whte on top? The accent colours in the room (in fabrics) are a soft green, red, yellow, gold and off white.

All thoughts/ideas are greatly appreciated!
