wrong paint color in foyer

I had a professional help me pick out colors for my existing decor in my home. We had already faux finished the living room with a beautiful gold yellow ragging, The furnishings are burgundy, gold, green, and art work by Alvar. The home itself is a historical reproduction. Across from the living room is the dining room, and it has a historical wall covering in burgundy . So, THE FOYER IS YORK HARBOR YELLOW!!! that does not go with anything. It does blend with the finsh in the living room , but is hot hot hot and is truly not made for the foyer. The person that helping me assures me that we can tone this down, but has yet to see it. she is out of town. All I can do is pace and worry. This color SCREAMS at you. I spent a fortune on paint and painter. How do I correct this? How do I bring these two rooms gracefully together and lead down a hallway into a den that is a fern green ( also professionally chosen) without having a nightmare on the way. I am totally stressed. Thanks Janet
