2 ideas come to mind. You can get a curtain that is white with a large, over-sized floral image. Bright coral with orange hints. The California poppy is a great, simple flower. Or go Goergia O'Keefe in style.
Another idea is to stay simple with the curtains and treat the remaining wall with a 2 tone strip pattern 5" - 6" alternating color strips (made by masking the stripes on the wall).
