White pigmented shellac, like BIN works best. It is available at all paint supply stores. It is Denatured Alcohol based so it dries quickly. But also has an odorous and toxic smell during application. So use in a well ventilated room. Once dry, you can use a latex interior paint, Satin or Semi-gloss sheen, like Sherwin Williams.
